Despite rapid progress in treating this disease, AIDS remains a significant problem in eastern and southern Africa.

For World AIDS Day, Salma Hayek Pinault, godmother of mothers2mothers and co-founder of CHIME FOR CHANGE, celebrates these brave HIV-positive women who are working in eight African countries to prevent the transmission of HIV from the mother to the child, to fight against social stigmatization and to ensure not only the survival, but especially the well-being of each family concerned.

As the new godmother of mothers2mothers, Salma recently traveled to South Africa to meet these inspiring mentor mothers and discover for themselves the important work they do on the ground. “The work of every mother-mentor saves thousands of lives,” Salma said. “These women are strong, proud and incredibly inspiring (…) they are no longer afraid of anything when they join these women to help the new generation. ”

Join Salma to support mothers2mothers. Share the film and donate at https://www.m2m.org/donate. Together, we can end pediatric AIDS and free the next generation from the threat of HIV.
