The 224_Hommes_Femmes Autumn/Winter 2017-18 collection finds its inspiration in the energetic tension where strength and simplicity intersect.

These designs, both menswear and womenswear and exclusively handmade in Germany, showcase the brand’s signature tailoring and attention to detail while retaining a fluidity of transformation. Inspired by the choreography of Pina Bausch and Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, the season captures what designer Stephanie Hahn calls, “the hypnotic movement of energy” within the powerful precision of design.

The collection presents as a focused current of aesthetic, expanding the idea of greyscale to show a juxtaposition of dimensionality and simplification.

As Hahn elucidates; “There are indeed infinite shades of grey, and the motifs of this collection, paying particular attention to the color scheme, harness the motion of transition as we move from black to white.”

Themes of power and simplicity are at play not only within the color scheme, which is reduced to a concise schema of black, silver, taupe, chestnut, brick, ginger, rust, flannel grey, ecru, and white, but also within the concentrated textile choices. Appearing in this collection are innovative and adaptable materials designed to hold the line of elegance while embracing the transitions of a turbulent season.

Elements new to this season are the detachable hood collars with transitional zipper for fully integrated, yet fully transformable, elegance and function. Also new this season are the hand-produced duvet garments, including coats, jackets, safety vests, tops, bags, skirts, and accessories made of European-made DuPont technology with metal infused fibers and short-memory functionality.
