Kei Ninomiya explored the idea of wearable geometry, pushing the boundaries of down from a technical but also aesthetic point of view, aiming for innovation in both areas.

Kei has chosen a meticulous fabrication and manipulation of fabrics, using nylon and leather for a series of complex and functional items at a time, made by multiplying small pieces and assembling them to create perfect shapes.

The forms are feminine, with pleated skirts, stoles and short jackets or coats longer for punk and romantic silhouettes at a time, always matched with big boots.

Each piece seems both familiar and astonishing: the iconic shapes are revisited thanks to the fervent use of intarsia, upholstery, quilting, appliqué, fretwork that create decorative and geometric movements on all surfaces.

The flowers are transformed into geometric shapes, or metamorphose into bold leather inserts.

The technicality is pushed to the extreme with nylon tubes stuffed with down knitted voluminous sweaters.

6 MONCLER BLACK KEI NINOMIYA will be launched at Dover Street Market in Ginza on July 24, 2018 with an event inspired by the collection’s bright, futuristic black palette.

The collection will be in store from July 25, 2018.
