Marni is changing its address in Manhattan’s Upper East Side, moving to a prestigious new location at 822 Madison Avenue.

The boutique is spread over 308 sq m divided across two floors that feature the women’s ready-to-wear, accessories and jewellery collections. Visitors are welcomed in an atrium covered with colourful resin panels that create an intriguing perspective effect, which then opens into the first room devoted to accessories. The bags are displayed on concrete shelves and polyhedra covered with a polished steel surface, while a suspended marble display showcases small leather goods.

The concrete floor with a white marble circular insert leads to a spectacular brass portal painted in a warm burnt brown shade. From here you enter the second room, where the clothing is arranged on iconic wave-style steel rails, a distinctive feature of every Marni boutique.

The upper floor is divided into three rooms, characterized by a colour-block carpeted floor. The furnishings consist of geometric display elements: irregular solids in which the rounded corners are highlighted by contrasting colours, satin brass tables and comfortable lime green velvet armchairs.  Crossing an area bordered by circular walls in a sophisticated pink shade, which contain recesses that house bags and jewellery, you come to another, more intimate space, where you can be inspired from the ready-to-wear collections, before completing your visit in the last room, where the footwear is presented.

The boutique is illuminated by large Barisols, which extend along the ceiling of both levels in a graphic interplay of circles of various sizes.

The new Madison Avenue location, the third Marni boutique in New York after the stores in Soho and the Meatpacking District, is part of a busy program of openings scheduled for 2018, which began with the inauguration of the boutique in Florence and which will continue in Rome and Paris.

Every opening will be celebrated with the creation of a different animal sculpture for each city, for sale exclusively and for a limited period only in the local boutique.

Handmade from papier-mâché and beads by a community of women from Villanueva in Colombia, these creations are truly unique pieces, which each require four days of work.
