Louis Vuitton presents his cruise collection at the Miho Museum in Shigaraki, southwest of Kyoto, which will be held on Sunday, May 14. The parade will take place in an exclusive setting: the Miho Museum, designed by the architect Ieoh Ming Pei, author of the Grand Louvre and its pyramids in Paris, where with the spirit of the journey, guests will discover of unique places, architectural works and art Forming an integral part of the Louis Vuitton House .

The museum, inaugurated in 1997, was conceived as a terrestrial paradise by its draftsman. The museum takes shape after a tunnel dressed in metal and a suspended bridge, representing a Shangri-la nestled in the heart of a hidden valley. The museum will host a parade for the first time in its history. This monument also, retains a collection of more than two thousand pieces, combines exoticism and modernity in a bewitching forest.

This place immediately inspired me. After the desert and Palm Springs, the sea and Rio, I wanted to discover another landscape: an immersion in an ocean of greenery. With the Miho Museum designed by Ieoh Ming Pei, we continue the architectural journey of the Louis Vuitton House. We are conveying a relationship between nature, a geography and the vision of a great architect for the 2018 fashion show ”  -Nicolas Ghesquière, Director of Louis Vuitton’s Women’s Collections.

Cruise is synonymous with travel and movement. With Nicolas we are looking for an extraordinary architecture and a striking landscape. Architecture is part of the history of the House: from shops to the Foundation to nomadic objects. Today we are opening a new chapter: after John Lautner, Oscar Niemeyer, it is the turn of the Miho Museum to take our guests on a mystical journey to a lost valley”    – Michael Burke, President and CEO of Louis Vuitton.
