As George Méliès, one of silent cinema’s greats, said “I build my dreams so I don’t wake up”. Just like Josep Font with Delpozo’s first resort collection. This new Croisière collection sees two new handbag shapes from Delpozo; the Bubble camera bag and the Orchid clutch to transition from day to night and the print fabrics pay homage to Méliès’ masterpiece Le voyage dans la Lune.
Delicate petal arches, trapezoid shapes, draped knots and bows in Josep Font’s collection echo Anthony Caro’s installations. Through visual construction, like Caro’s abstract space volumes, the fine lines of petals are a multicoloured cocktail of yellow, sand, white as well as vivid blue and green for day dresses.
Linen day wear is mixed with cotton poplin and with raffia jacquard, while knits are of the finest Eg yptian cotton. Silk tulle, silk organza, cotton organdy and silk georgette move through blush pink, lilac to aquamarines for after dark.
