PARIS SOCIAL DIARY: How long have you been working at Bureau Betak?

Alexandre-Camille Removille: It’s been a year, now. Before, I was working as a manager for the French/American photographer and director Stephane Sednaoui, for his exhibition in New York 9/11 Museum and I produced his book « Search and Rescue at Ground Zero.

I also worked for Total Management in New York, which specializes in stylist and photographer management. Then, I got this opportunity to start as Head of Communications for Bureau Betak, and I wanted to give it a try.

PARIS SOCIAL DIARY: What I like about Bureau Betak is that your are not only in charge of Fashion Shows but also Art and Luxury Events?

Alexandre-Camille Removille: Yes, it’s true. We put a lot of efforts in not only producing events but really coming up with concepts, and creativity is at the heart of our work.

PARIS SOCIAL DIARY: As the Head of Communications of Bureau Betak, what do you find the most challenging tasks?

K
Alexandre-Camille Removille: I’d say the most challenging is when we need to design our clients’ digital strategy around the show concept. We need to understand their needs and also be able to propose something new and innovative to them, as an added value. Our chance is that we get to get involved in the process very early, so we can come up with ideas and experiments that nobody thought before.

There is also the Bureau Betak communication part that is quite challenging. Indeed, we surround ourselves with talented people who come from either the fashion or architectural world, and ask them to try to render our work the best.
The challenge is that our focus in on the set, and the design side, they should get rid of their habits as we are not a fashion brand. The main aspect is that we have the chance to work with Alexandre de Betak, and he has so much to offer in terms of creativity that you have to be able to follow his ideas and be really pro active.

PARIS SOCIAL DIARY: How would you describe the Bureau Betak’s DNA and essence that is present at every project?

Alexandre-Camille Removille: Alex de Betak has so much references and inspirations, that he is always able to propose different aesthetics depending on the client will. Though, it’s true that there is a real Bureau Betak style, he is very interested in the mix between retro and futuristic designs, he’s known to be a huge fan of Star Wars universe for instance.

PARIS SOCIAL DIARY: How would you describe the evolution of Fashion Shows, Exhibitions and Special events in the industry and inside Bureau Betak?

K
Alexandre-Camille Removille: Well, Bureau Betak started to revolutionize the fashion shows a long ago, in the early 90’s. Alex de Betak made it so much more fast, rythmic, minimalistic, giving a huge importance to set design, light, music and casting. And it is still the case, when you see the huge productions we have done for Dior with Raf Simons, it’s different from what you can see elsewhere.

Now in our digital era, new challenges arise, the communication side is at the heart of brand communications, so as their brand content.

As a design and production agency, we have to adapt, and that’s what we are doing now, preparing tomorrow’s fashion show revolution. Even if everyone wants to go digital now, I think we work in a spectacle industry, and there will always be a wish for people to live experiences in real life, our challenge is now to find the right balance and format.

PARIS SOCIAL DIARY: Bureau Betak’s Special Projects are based all over the world. Do you find Latin America as a new market to develop any projects related to Bureau Betak?

Alexandre-Camille Removille: Latin America is definitely a big and growing market, fashion weeks are developing throughout the continent. We saw this year with Vuitton in Rio and Chanel in Cuba that European brands have understood that they need to seduce the Latin American continent, and their audience there.

Of course Bureau Betak would be keen on doing projects there, there are amazing locations either in Peru, Chile or Argentina for example.

PARIS SOCIAL DIARY: Who you would love to work with that you haven’t done yet?

Alexandre-Camille Removille: We don’t really work this way.. We prefer to think in terms of project than in terms of brand. That’s why we do all these shows for the emerging designers, we love that energy, that creativity, that will to show a new vision of fashion.. that’s more how we work. It is also more about all the ideas we have and did not develop yet I would say.
