Knitwear is a fundamental part of MARNI ready-to-wear collections. The orderly chaos that characterises their aesthetic has been translated into a full look based around knits, as wool, cashmere and cotton in ultra-fine yarns make up long, wondrously feminine silhouettes, creating garments that hug the body and define the figure in a subtle understatement.

Layering is crucial to create an elongated figure, wool long striped cardigans are worn over rib knit midi and slightly tight dresses. The garments’ horizontal lines that progressively transform into an entire block of color play with pleated fabrics and oversized flowers on sweaters made with the intarsia technique. Finally the look is completed with stockings made from Lisle cotton yarn, or more elegantly, in silk with a central intarsia pattern.

The Knitwear theme is continued all over the accessories, with geometric motifs in different color combinations for high heeled moccasins made of polished calfskin leather. Marni’s iconic trunk bag has a horizontally striped knit as well as a plain-coloured model decorated with a central maxi band.
