Each x Other artists collective continues their passion for daydreaming, travelling and exploring the world through poetry and language.
This collection is centred around that blend of tradition and modernity, the past and present coming together.
Taking inspiration from mexican culture, Patti Smith’s view on life and blended with the historic attitude of feminist artist Frida Kahlo, the creative spirit takes form through ruffles, patterns, stripes, draped fabrics and texture. Bringing movement, color and fluidity to each x others masculine identity.
This feeling of intense nostalgia for mystical times is reflected in the words of each x others in-house artist, Robert Montgomery’s famous words “the people you love become ghosts inside of you and like this you keep them alive”, which also feature throughout the collection.
Memories of Mexico are also visible throughout the collection. Serape fabric’s are updated with a more subdued colour palette. Mayan symbol embroidery adorn denim. And poncho’s hint at a classic mexican silhouette.
Whilst flamboyant ruffles and matador hat’s touch on the hispanic heritage.
`No walls between us’ and `la poesía es liberación’ slogans created by Robert Montgomery, especially for this collection feature throughout in the form of colorfully embroidered patches. Aptly reflecting today’s mood.
Staying true to form, the brand focusses heavily on cool-girl tailoring. This seasons proportions are varied; from the classic slim `smoking’ suits in a choice of rich emerald velvet or timeless prince of wales check; to more a oversized swing suit in navy wool fused with hand woven fibres.
Alongside the collection sits a series of hand made tarot cards inspired by the mexican `loteria’, and a set of prints with the slogans `no walls between us’ and `la poesía es liberación’.
