Paris Fashion Week SS17: ELLERY

Darkly romantic, sophisticated and refined, the new collection embodies the brand’s recognizable foundations, whilst marking a new path towards a rebellious future.

“This season I am inspired by those who influence the rise of positive subculture. The poets. The thinkers. The rebels”, explains designer Kym Ellery.

Reinventing the brands architectural DNA, new silhouettes are born. Volume shifts with tethered bubble sleeves, hourglass coats, fish-tail skirts and gently ruched dresses. Where masculinity and femininity come in equal doses by ruffles, ties and gathers soften utilitarian zips, whilst studs and bike-chain details punctuate garments with a tough take on luxury.

Details elevate the garments with contrast topstitching, metal brooches, glossy rings with coloured resin stones, custom orchid studs and the brand’s signature zig-zag embroidery. This season we looked at those who were mad enough to dare and bold enough to be different.

For ELLERY, Spring ’17 is about the constant search for strength, innovation and reinvention, as well as the ever-constant desire to empower women through design and to create clothes for women of excellence.
