Delpozo, the spanish prêt-à-couture house shows a recreation of American-Korean installation artist Soo Sunny Park’s work, in its Spring/ Summer 2017 London store window, this flagship is located on 134 Sloane Street. Soo Sunny Park’s work was one of the inspirations behind the brand’s collection.

“I am fascinated by Josep’s artistic process behind each season’s work. It is an honor to be credited alongside of Spanish Impressionist painter Joaquín Sorolla for my luminous installation work and for my dedication to craftsmanship as inspiration in Delpozo’s SS2017 collection. It was challenging yet fun to come up with a design for the London storefront.” says Soo Sunny Park.

The “Unwoven Light” series for Spring 17, was what inspired Josep Font, the creative director. In this work she explores light’s potential as a structural element in sculpture. Sharing a commitment for craftsmanship, Park’s installations of metallic mesh and iridescent Plexiglas create playful imaginative spaces. All of this, made Font gravitate towards diaphanous fabrics and shimmering prints, and the iridescent color palette for the season. On the other hand, the organic and wave-like creations blossomed into the calla lilly sleeves on coats and jackets.

“I was impressed by the intricate detailing of Sunny’s work and started thinking how we could push this one step further. As our store has lot of natural light, I felt we could translate her installation into our window display connecting my direct source of inspiration and the collection while giving our customers a unique experience.” – Josep Font
