The show took place inside a work of art by the artist Sterling Ruby who Simons gave free rein to imagine a work appropriate for CALVIN KLEIN, that is how America is imagined.

“It reflects the environment,” says Raf Simons. “All these different people with different styles and dress codes, it’s the future, the past, the Art Deco, the city, the American West … all these things and none of these things, not one era, not one thing, Not a style. It is the meeting of different characters and different individuals, just like America itself. It is the unique beauty and emotion of America.

With a combination of musical band uniforms, plastic coated protection, powerful financial tailor suits, antique handmade fabric, work clothes, and the far western style, it is a unique type of parade that is evoked.

Simons introduced his debut collection to an audience that featured prominent guests including Brooke Shields, Gwyneth Paltrow, Julianne Moore, Sarah Jessica Parker, Lauren Hutton, Naomi Harris, Millie Bobby Brown, as well as key editors, stylists, retailers and influencers .
