The new Louis Vuitton Autumn-Winter 2018 collection is based on time, on maintaining the seal of the brand from the past, present and future.

“It’s about clothes that can change, about fabrics that can travel on the body – and transform,” says Kim Jones, Men’s Artistic Director of Louis Vuitton. “Discovering something new. A constant voyage.”

The collection shows a clearly modern ease of movement through pieces of clothing inspired by a sports wave and different cultural experiences. The prints are a representation of the trip, composed of photographs captured during a helicopter flight through. The resulting images are shown directly, but they also influence the palette of the collection of natural, neutral earth tones, desert and mountainous tones of sandstone, granite, olive and slate. Basically they emphasize Louis Vuitton’s DNA: of exploration and discovery.

For travel through time, materials were used that took us to the future. Titanium is incorporated into the collection as a new precious metal, used in finishes and hardware. Which exudes a shine through shimmering and changing fabrics, organza overlays, python and metallized treatments. Echoes of titanium monogram, the shine and shadow of the metal become a new iteration of the signature.
