A romantic force is what drives designer Anna Molinari through the Blumarine universe. Her language of bold femininity shapes a new way for women to describe themselves – embracing both strength and lightness – and the Blumarine Pre-Fall 2017 collection embodies the evolution of this statement.

There is a touch of Brit style, inspired by moments from the past such as a walk in Soho when London was experiencing the New Romantic movement or when Frankie Goes to Hollywood released the hit The Power of Love; yet these references never overpower the looks, which instead remain well grounded in the present.

Shot inside Anna Molinari’s residence in Carpi, the lookbook creates a sense of cultural crossover with the model posing alongside a painting by Giovanni Boldini, a hint at Anna’s quest for reinvented tradition.

Printed velvet and Chantilly lace together with mink, fox and murmel furs stitched together in an unexpected puzzle are the most distinctive materials of the Blumarine Pre-Fall 2017collection, completed by satin, chiffon, jersey lamé, cady, wool bouclé and shearling.

Sleek silhouettes are punctuated by belts or trimmings, while fabrics delicately embrace the body playing with different touches, weights and sheer/mat contrasts. Accessories, like the Midi Heel with rhinestone buckles or the new version of the Odette Bag, complete the mood staying true to its signature irony.
