Stella McCartney, the known designer in women’s clothing celebrated the launch of her first ever menswear collection and revealed her new women’s Spring 2017 collection at the iconic Abbey Road Studios in an homage to music and fashion.
Where celebrities and influencers such as Kate Moss, Salma Hayek, Orlando Bloom, Cillian Murphy, M.I.A, Jess Glynne, Anna Friel, Francios-Henri Pinault,Twiggy, Toby Huntington-Whiteley, Sophie Kennedy-Clarke, Theo Hutchcraft, Sofia Boutella, Alasdhair Willis, Lucie de la Falaise, Rosemary Ferguson, Phoebe Collings-James, Lotte Anderson, Anouck Lepere, Eva Riccobono and many more joined Stella McCartney to celebrate the evening.
Alongside the collection presentation were live musical acts including DJ sets by Neneh Cherry, Paul Simonon (Clash) and Dan Donovan (Big Audio Dynamite), Mike D (Beastie Boys), and Basement Jaxx and musical performances by Professor Green, DMC (Run Dmc), John Cooper Clarke and Stella’s Supergroup… Jeff Wooton (Gorillaz) with Beth Ditto, Sharleen Spiteri Mike D and DMC.
Stella McCartney’s debut menswear collection draws on iconic art and sub cultures across the eras to inject a new creative energy into timeless classics. Combining a quintessential British style that gently pushes boundaries between function and fashion; formalwear and sportswear the collection is animated in a selection of 12 looks staged within an arcade and game room themed activities.
The new women’s Spring 2017 collection features irreverent styles created by a unrestricted energy; clashing shapes and textures in unexpected ways. The Stella woman embraces an eloquent individuality playful presented in fun animated vignettes within the recording studio; a listening booth, a DJ booth. Accessories complement the collection including the new Falabella Box bag, a structured hard case version of the original Stella McCartney signature bag with a braided chain. Elyse, Binx and Odette shoes alongside the eco-friendly eyewear fabricated from bio materials were prominently displayed.
